From the Brush of Artist - My name is Derek Overfield and I am an American expressive figurative artist. I make primal and contemporary figurative art that feels heroic and tragic.
I've always had a love for the figure in art, starting at an early age with an admiration for comic book art. Later, I developed an interest in the same themes of heroism and power explored in the long history of art.
Force of expression, honesty, power, and reverence are some elements that drive my work and dedication to being a part of figurative art.
