From the Brush of Artist - My name is Aleksandra Szmidt. I was born in Poland, in 1990 but now I'm living in New Zealand for several months. I studied landscape architecture but I worked as graphic designer. I spent a lot of time in front of computer so I decided that I want to change something. When I moved here I bought my first watercolours and I started to paint. My passion is creating illustrations for children. I really like this kind of illustrations because I can let my imagination act. The inspiration often wakes up in my head during daily activities. Now I work as a freelance illustrator for children's books. Most of my work is done traditionally by using paints and crayons. I really like handmade stuff. I'm very happy that I decided to change my job because now I really love it.
