From the Brush of Artist - My name is José Luis Barcia Fernandez and I am 40 years old. I was born in Pola de Siero, Asturias, a beautiful region in the north Spain and I am currently living in Madrid. I have a Chemistry degree and I work as a logistics manager in a multinational retail company. I am interested in street and architecture photography and I only shoot with mobile phones.
Some years ago I used to make digital art, mixing different layers of painting and photography composing digital collages. I used to use mixed media, with oil and acrylic paint, ink and different materials like cast, paperboard, little pieces of stone, glue, etc. After that, in 2011 I bought my first iPhone and discovered, playing with photo apps like Cameramatic and Hipstamatic, its creative possibilities. I started going out and taking photos, but they were so bad, so I used to combine them creating photomontages. I knew exactly the kind of photos that I wanted to get, but for a lack of knowledge or ability, I wasn´t able to get them, so my resource was to use the photomontage. I think this helped me a lot to learn how to compose, sort the layers of colors and shapes, and place my subjects properly on the frame.
I suppose that in our photographs we reflect our cultural, emotional, and audiovisual baggage. My main source of inspiration is music, I usually listen to music while I am taking photos and when I edit them. I am particularly interested in a musical genre called post rock, consisting of instrumental themes, generally very evocative and emotive, with quiet soundscapes and frequent and powerful changes of rhythm. I am also interested in metal and electronic music. In painting I like the informalism of Tàpies, the light of Edward Hopper and the Suprematism of Malevich.

GENIAL and creative minimalist composition that allows the imagination to fly. Based on the shadows of an eaves, a hand and a fan, I refer to the definition of "shadow" by Paulo Neo "fragile canvas where you believe a sketch to taste" and allows me to "sketch" in the shadow, the poem of the Hnos Quintero "Your fan is a butterfly, that in your hand is posed, because in your flight another rose, more beautiful did not find" Happy day "campe"
