An Interview with Javier Remirez de Ganuza.
Who and where are you from?
I am Javier Remirez de Ganuza, ¨Remyland¨, a selftought artist from Logroño, I´m 37 years old and I live and work in Zaragoza, Spain.
How you got into this?
I have always been a very creative kid and a poor student.I have the memory of me always leaving my responsabilities to create my own world through images.
One day I decided to live focusing on living through my art.This was 11 years ago.Since my first studio in Zaragoza. Now I have developed my own style. In witch you can see my influences, mainly the revolutionary artists from the 20 century, like Picasso, Saura , Dubuffet , Matisse or Basquiat.
What is your driving force?
Being myself and to talk my own language.Full of textures,vivid colors and gesture. The continuous and endless search that art provides. The feeling of painting by itself,being in contact with the paint and flow through the accidents in the canvas.
What kind of work you do and why?
My world is full of inlfuences like science fiction movies, religion, esoteric symbols, graffitti, mithology,astrology an even transhumanism. The fight between light and darkness.
