Born 1982 in Istanbul, Doruk Seymen's interest in photography began in 2002. He worked as a documentary photographer until 2007 and was featured in several magazines. Although at first he focused on Nature and Living Culture photography, he expanded his spectrum in 2009 when he started working for international based Turkish magazines (names). 2012 he founded his own company and collected his freelance catalogue and commercial work under one name.
Being a known name in the fashion and industrial photography, Doruk still makes room in his busy schedule to turn to his old passion of nature photography to express his inner thoughts, emotions and philosophies. His artistic motivations come from the desire to understand Light and saying new things. He archives his most exciting work under the category of 'experimental photography'.
Trying to capture the lighting of his favorite painter Rembrandt, Doruk Seymen is also inspired by the cinematography of Andrei Tarkovsky ve Bela Tarr.
